Error 1001 is 'incomplete installation'. You need to re-install the Super80 using the file you used in the first place. Make sure if you are running Windows Vista, to right-click the file, and select Run As Administrator.
If you are installing from the CD, browse to the root of the CD using Windows Explorer, and right-click the Setup.exe file and select Open. If you are running Windows Vista, select Run As Administrator instead of Open.
Does the error code appear when reinstalling or after when you are running the Super 80 Pro? If it comes when running the Super 80 Pro it means that the gauge file cannot find the license file. This is most likely due to an incomplete installation.
Did you click on Yes to allow the guage file to run? You should.
It sounded like you had clicked no, so maybe I misunderstood. Try this.
Copy the contents of the CD onto your computer into a folder on your desktop.
Reboot the computer into safe mode by repeatedly clicking th F8 key at startup. Once in Safe mode, open the folder and right click the setup.exe file and select "Run as Administrator".
Once installed, reboot the computer into normal mode and run FSX. Load a default Cessna and once in the cockpit, swithc to 2D view using a right click on your screen. Once in 2D panel view, go to Aircraft menu / select Aircraft and choose the Super80 Pro. You should then see the splash screen and another window opens explaining the Super80 Center. Close that window and you will be in the Super80 Pro 2D cockpit.
Let us know if that works.
Ok try this.
Switch your regional setting to English so that you use a "." rather than a "," as a decimal seperator. Re-install, then reboot. Swap the regional setting back to your own country. That solved a 1005 error, but worth a try.
If you don't know how to swap the region, see the PDF here.
It is something on your system stopping the install. If that didn't work, set your "start up" to run without loading anything except essentials, then reboot and re-install. See this PDF for how to disable startup items in Vista.
Have to wait for someone else to make other suggestions. I am out of ideas here. If you can't get it installed, Flight1 offer a money back guarantee. Have you had this problem with any other aircraft?
Hold on a minute....
If you are installing from the CD boxed version, why do you need proof of purchase number?
Maybe I confused you in the PDF by saying redownload with startup items disabled. If you are using CD version you don't need that. Just run the CD again.
If you have a boxed version, at no point are you asked for a proof of purchase number, so I am very confused as to what you are installing.
If you can, run the uninstaller from the programs/flight One Software menu to remove the super80 Pro. If that hasn't been created because of the problems, go to settings/control panel/Programs and Features and see if you can uninstall from there. If nothing appears to uninstall, try the FSX folder and look for UnSuper80Pro.exe. Right Click and select "Run as Administrator".
If that doesn't exist, go to the following locations to remove files anbd folders so we can do a clean install:
C/Windows Folder. Find and delete the s80pro1.lic file.
FSX/Flight One Software Folder. Find and delete the Super80Pro folder.
FSX/SimObjects/Airplanes folder. Find and delete the F1Super80Pro folders.
Place the CD in the drive and stop the autorun by holding down the SHIFT key. Browse to the CD drive and right click setup.exe and select "Run as Administrator".
At no point will you be asked for a proof of purchase code. If you are being asked, let me know, and if possible, supply a screengrab of what is shown.
Once the installer has finished, start FSX and load a default Cessna in 2D panel view, NOT 3D. Then, once sitting in the Cessna at an airport, select the Super80 Pro from the Aircraft menu. You should now see the splash screen and after a few seconds, another window will open with info about the Super80 Center.
If that screen doesn't appear, try pressing SHIFT A to see if it launches.
Let us know how you get on.
If that doesn't work, open a support ticket with Flight1 and ask Jeff to supply you a download key and code. He will need the certificate number from the inside front cover of the manual as proof of purchase. It may be a faulty CD in which case the download will work.
